    Maybe This is Our “Do-Over”

Take a moment to think back to when you were younger on the playground with your friends. When something didn’t go the way you planned, when you made a misstep and got tagged in freeze tag, didn’t duck in time in dodge ball, got an unforeseen leg cramp while racing. What is the first thing you yelled when you felt that due to the outcome, you wanted the opportunity to try again? To give it your all? To start over and erase the initial loss and replace it with a win? What is the first thing that you yelled? I NEED A DO-OVER!!! Why is that? Because you wanted to…

It Was Right Here All Along

As a mother I have to keep track of everrryything. Adding the role of ‘wife’ to that, we have 2 times the work. Having both titles or even one or the other, we tend to be the ‘brain’ for life’s most common questions and detectives for everything lost. “Where did I put my softball uniform”? “Have you seen my phone charger”? “I can’t find where I placed keys (which I lose every other day)”? “Where is my Barbie”? And soooo much more. Needless to say at the top of our job description is to keep track of everything for everyone….At. All. Times. I actually thought that I was pretty good…

    Our Giving

As we grow in life, we tend to notice that everything connected to us grows as well. Our relationships grow, our faith grows, we grow in business and success, and we also may grow in size or outgrow things as well (clothing for example, YIKES!). No matter what we do in our lives, we should always be in a state of growth. Growing means there is “life” among you. You are progressing, maturing and developing. As Christians we strive daily to grow spiritually, leading a life that is pleasing to Christ. What does this mean? This means we are outgrowing some relationships, taking steps to produce by cultivating who we…

    Sweet Home Alabama

(God’s Promise….A Rainbow over our home two days before we moved) Written May 29, 2018 The last few months, weeks and days have been utterly filled with so much I haven’t even had time to keep up with blogging! Today marked the last day we will live in Alabama. This transition for me will be bittersweet. My Husband has been traveling these past few months from State to State working and getting everything prepared for our relocation. I’m not going to lie, it has been a lonnng 5 1/2 months for me getting prepared for this major move. From previous experience as a young single mother with one child, I…

A Helpful #LifeHack for Grocery Shopping!

This is not an #ad, this is actually just a little #lifehack for many of us that are just really busy with life. Today I did something for the 2nd time and I loved it!!!  I’m not sure how many people have heard of Wal-Mart Pickup, but it is a life and timesaver. I first learned about it through the advertisement a few months back on Instagram while scrolling through my feed. However, I didn’t think much about it because in my mind I thought, ok Wal-Mart Pickup… isn’t it the same as me going in the grocery store myself and getting my own groceries?!? Not putting much thought into it…

    Conquering Interruptions

Talk about stress and the frustration that a writer goes through when they are unable to write or when an interruption takes place. When your focus is broken, it becomes difficult to regain your thought process. Those who aren’t writers may not entirely grasp the degree of anxiety and stress that comes along with not being able to get your thoughts written or develop your complete thought process while in the moment. When we miss that “tug” or “dose of inspiration” it’s painful mentally because you beat yourself up. You try to figure out what you are wanting to write, thinking about, or what you were doing at the moment…

    Why Crayons & Callings?

So why Crayons & Callings? Being a mommy of a teenager and a 1-year-old who is going on 25, I’m pretty much all over the place physically and mentally. From girls scouts, band recitals, school/daycare drop offs and pick ups, after school activities, working… just for beginners. To being an awesome wife (if I should say so myself haha!), church, traveling and supporting my husband in ministry, and more. I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember and through many signs that have been shown to me, especially as of late, it’s time that I get back into it. I’ve been “busy” for such a long time.…

    A Bit of Background…

Many aren’t aware, but I’ve been a writer since as early as I can remember. My very first board book that I wrote (and I still have it till this day) is called “My Dog”. I’ll attach a picture of it later :). Yes, it was in third grade and never nationally publish, but hey, that’s not the point haha! Ever since then I grew a love for writing because I realized at that young age what I wrote actually made sense. A few years later in middle school, is when I began writing poetry. My mom was my Sunday School teacher at the time and she gave us an…

    With Love, Krystle Michelle

Here I am and here it is! I decided to start blogging (took me forever and a day!). I’ve been writing for a while now (I would say since the 3rd grade) but if I may be honest, I have been sitting on my gift. Honestly I’ve been kind of afraid to share. If “kind of” means “extremely” then YES, that’s the best way to describe it. You know, as writers or even individuals as general, we struggle with the thought of “who would actually care what I have to say”, “who would be interested in what I write about”, or even simply “am I even GOOD!?!”. Welp… I’m…
